Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

August 29, 2008 Leave a comment

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Barack Obama: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

John McCain: My friends, the chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

Dr. Phil: The problem we have here is that this chicken won’t realize that he must first deal with the problem on “THIS” side of the road before it goes after the problem on the “OTHER” side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he’s acting by not taking on his CURRENT problems before adding NEW problems.

George W. Bush: We don’t really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

Dr. Seuss: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed, I’ve not been told.

Bill Gates: I have just released eChicken 2008 which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never ever cra…&$%#@…reboot.

John Lennon: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

Al Gore: I invented the chicken!

Colonel Sanders: Did I miss one?

Dick Cheney: Where’s my gun?

Grandpa: In my day, we didn’t ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

McCain Picks a Woman as His VP!

In what I consider a brilliant move, Senator John McCain has pegged Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin to be his Veep running mate.  Wow, is this a gesture to the disenfranchised Hillary supporters?

Sarah is quite a bit younger than McCain, also hopefully bringing in a different demographic of voters into the polling booths.  How will the polls react to this?  Not sure.  I see a few issues that may come up.

1)  Alaska.  She’s been involved with Big Oil.  Issue?  Perhaps

2)  She’s a very young Governor.  Inexperienced?  Well, no less than Obama.

3)  She’s relatively unknown.  I didn’t know her…did you?

I think it’s a good ticket.  A woman VP?  Cool…

Russian Bar Trio Injury Update

August 27, 2008 6 comments

Here is what happened to Christine of America’s Got Talent’s Russian Bar Trio act.  This is a copy of their post.  Excuse their grammar and spelling.  They are French-Canadian, I believe.  According to their website:

Hello Every one.

We just want to say thank you for all your suport. Christine is doing well. She is recovering very quickly. For those who want to know what happened, she just twisted her ankle while jumping down the bar on the edge of this matress. Very stupid incident. So with a twisted ankle you will agree that it hard to jump on this bar. She will be ok probally just a little bit too late for the live final of AGT. So we have been forced to drop out. We are very sorry for all our fans. We promisse you that you will still hear from us. For now until Christine will be ready to be back, we have a backup Flyer. She is doing well. We are still playing in Spain with the backup till the mid of september.

Again thank you very much for your support.

Steven Curtis Chapman Interview with James Dobson

I caught the tail end of the three day interview that Dr. James Dobson had with Steven Curtis Chapman.  It’s very good.  You can find it by clicking on the right side (Family radio tab) of the main page, the “Daily Broadcast” link.  The three parts are called “The God of All Comfort”.  Linked HERE.

One of the cool things that Dr. Dobson mentioned was how the secular interviews didn’t catch onto the spiritual aspect of the story, which was the biggest gist of their whole experience.

Also, thank you to all our readers!  In only five months, we’ve reached 14,000 webpage views!  Thanks!!

Microsoft Synth

August 23, 2008 Leave a comment

Microsoft has a cool new, free web application that takes photos and puts them together into a 3d view. Check out a view of our messy living room here.
You may have to install a free program to use it through your web browser. Unfortunately, I must not have taken the pictures close enough together for the program to sync them correctly, so there are three or four groups of 3d view synths, but the idea is well conveyed.

Bryce is Walking!

Bryce is now walking little steps!  He’s been standing on his own for a few weeks now, but he’s now taking the little steps toward us, rather than just falling into our arms.  He’ll be one on the 26th, so this is a cool milestone for him.

Will We Sell Our House?

August 14, 2008 Leave a comment

We had a showing tonight.  Lael wondered if it was a 2nd showing, but we didn’t know for sure.  I received a phone call tonight from our Realtor.  It was a 2nd showing, but the couple was torn between our house and another, and “need help” making a decision.  She is going to call their Realtor back and just chat about the pros to our home.  It’s only been on the market 2 months, so if we can sell this quickly, that is AWESOME.  Please pray that the right people come along, and that everything will go smoothly.  This is a big step for us, and we want to be sure it’s God’s will, and that everything falls into place.  We have a peace about the new house, we’re just anxious about selling ours and getting a fair price, which will help us put more down on our new house.  We’re so excited to get things moving!

The Olympics

August 10, 2008 Leave a comment

We were out of pocket this weekend at a family reunion in Ohio, so we weren’t able to watch any of the Olympics.  Came home, unpacked, and on came the TV and laptop.  WOW, NBC is doing a killer job of streaming live events online.  I could watch 4 events at one time, the stuff you can’t see on tv.  Handball (WEIRD SPORT), badminton, archery, weightlifting.  It’s really cool.  I wish it was in better quality, but it’s not horrible.  I gotta go get the wiki article on the rules of handball….
