Big News!

For those of you that don’t troll our Facebook accounts, here’s the latest and greatest update from the Nafziger family.  We are going to be a family of SIX!  That’s right, Six ladies and gentlemen!  Lael is pregnant, and is due around January 10, 2011.  We are excited, and we feel this is the end of the road for our family growth.  Four is a good number, so we’re done.  If we ever decide to have more in the future, we will adopt.  Just wanted you all to know!

Every 26 seconds a girl is forced/sold into sexual slavery somewhere in the world.  Please consider supporting DestinyRescue.org.  Their 26 Seconds program is a way to give to the cause.  For a one time donation of 40 dollars, or a monthly commitment of 26 dollars, you can be a part of this program.  You will receive a free conversation starter necklace, and their website actually shows you how much money your efforts have raised to help free girls from this horrible practice.  Destiny Rescue also has prevention programs that take at risk girls and give them jobs and a place to stay.  Please consider giving.

If you do give to the 26 Seconds project, make sure to use my username JoelNafziger OR our member id 2795 when prompted.  This will link the donations to our family name so we can see the fruits of our giving (anonymous).  If each person that gives also gets two people to give, and so on, the results can be huge!

We have a responsibility to take care of the poor and unfortunate around the world.

From the website:

“Every 26 seconds a child is being lured or sold into the sex trade.

There are approximately 2 million children currently trapped in sexual slavery, forced to have sex with adults several times a day.

Here is a real opportunity that will help rescue some of these children. For only minutes of your time, you can play a vital role in ending child slavery!”

Enjoy!  Just a quick video celebrating Bryce’s life.  His heart surgery was two years ago last month.  What a blessing to have him as our son.

Testing, Testing

Well, we are running Windows 7 at home now, and I’m loving it.  One of the newest programs, something I only tried out once or twice on Vista, is Windows Live Writer.  Lael is going to start blogging more, so I thought this program would help her out.  It’s a standalone program that allows you to draft a blog post without having to be online or logged into WordPress.  We’ll see how it work.  Here are some links, pictures, etc.

Facebook killed the blogging star

April 26, 2010 1 comment

Why do a blog when I can post on Facebook?  To my group of friends and family?  It’s targeted, it’s personal, it’s got video and pictures for free, unlike WordPress…  It’s just as easy to click my name as it is to hit up this webpage.

Now Presenting for the Very First Time….

November 7, 2009 Leave a comment

bridal partyMy little sister married her best friend today.  It was a BEAUTIFUL wedding with honest, raw emotion, great officiating, a supercute flower girl (Brielle), and an amazing reception/meal/cake.  It was great being able to see most of our out of state relatives as well.  I was an usher, Lael was a bridesmaid, and Brielle was a flower girl.  Michelle and Brandon did great, the ceremony went smoothly, and we all had a great time.  I’m hoping to get some good pictures to post.  I will also try to post some pictures AND videos to Facebook.  I’m exhausted, it was a really long day, but exciting.  They are moving so that Brandon can start doing his seasonal training working on his Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker.  They’ll both be missed, but won’t be terribly far away.  I’m so happy for them both!

Big Day for the Bryceman

September 30, 2009 Leave a comment

Bryce turned two about a month ago, so Lael decided it was past time to start potty training.  Well, she started in earnest on Monday, and today, he pooped in the potty for the 1st time.  We are pretty thrilled!  He did that better than actually peeing, probably because he can tell he needs to go better and it’s easier to let it go?  Not sure…but we are glad he did it!  I can changed pee diapers all day, but the poo…yuck.
