We Are In!!

April 16, 2009 Leave a comment

We have all of our belongings now in our new home.  They aren’t all where they are supposed to be quite yet, but hopefully soon.  Thanks to all who helped!  The laptop is about to die, I gotta get this posted and go to bed.  More soon!

Four Days

April 12, 2009 Leave a comment

We are cleared to close on the house.  We will be moving out of ours on Wednesday, closing on the new house on Thursday morning, and falling asleep absolutely exhausted in our new home Thursday night.

We are excited, and are looking forward to having the move behind us.

We had a great day today.  Church was nice, and we all had a fun time with food, family, and more food.  We got to meet Brandon’s family (Michelle’s fiance), which was nice.

Yesterday my father-in-law, my brother-in-law, Brielle, and myself all went fishing at my uncle’s property.  It was freezing in the morning with a constant wind, so we left and came back early afternoon.  I caught nothing, Brielle (with Dave’s help) caught around 7 fish.  I was humbled.  I was the only one who didn’t catch a fish.  I had a catfish on the line, and lost it.  But I usually do well there, so I don’t feel too badly.

More after we move!

Home Update (UPDATED 12/9)

December 1, 2008 1 comment

We had a home showing on Saturday morning.  The people love the neighborhood, and looked at a few houses in it.  They love ours, and we were told it was on the top of their list, sooo tomorrow they are coming back for a 2nd showing.  This is VERY encouraging, and hopefully they will make an offer; one that we can accept, or at least counteroffer.

The baby is due January 23rd.  If the home sells soon, we could be in before the baby is born, however, Lael will be limited in ability before, and obviously after, the baby arrives.  Ideally, I’d like to be able to move in December, but it’s not our plan, it’s God’s, and we will roll with whatever happens.  We’ll just be excited to be in a new home, one we can stay in for more than 5 years this time.  We have a lot of friends and family that will be able to help us out, and that owe us a favor.  Haha!!

So if you can, please pray that everything goes well.  Financing hasn’t been a problem, we are in a great situation, having our realtor sell our house, and us buying hers.  Things have fallen into place, and we believe this is God’s plan.  Still a little anxious, with the economy, and working for a boat company, there is a little anxiety, but I suppose that pushed us to plan really carefully with the money, homes we looked at, and prayer.

Exciting times!

On a side note, Bryce had his 15 month checkup today.  He’s doing great!  A little ahead on his development, and is getting molars in now.  He’s doing so well, we are thankful for our little man.  Brielle had her 2nd flu shot today.  No tears!  She also has stayed dry for over 24 hours.  She woke up dry this morning, stayed dry during her nap, and even went potty (she told us she had to, rather than being asked) at Walmart.  She was proud, and we are estatic!

(UPDATE:  THE SECOND SHOWING WENT WELL.  WE ARE STILL ON THE TOP OF THEIR LIST.  THEY HAVE A PREAPPROVAL LETTER, BUT HAVE SOME CONCERNS ABOUT THEIR HOURS AT WORK.  WE ARE HOPING TO HAVE AN ANSWER ON HOW LONG IT MAY BE BEFORE THEY DECIDE TO MAKE AN OFFER AND GET FINANCING SOON.  I’M ASSUMING IT WILL BE AFTER THE HOLIDAY SLOWDOWN.  PLEASE PRAY FOR STEADY EMPLOYMENT FOR THEM, WHOEVER THEY ARE.  THIS APPEARS TO BE THE HOLDUP)

The Great Home Search of 2008 is Over

June 11, 2008 2 comments

If all goes well, and it should, we have an accepted offer on a home! It’s actually one we really liked, but I saw the taxes were WAY high, but come to find out, the house was moved into in 2006, and so the exemptions haven’t kicked in. Oh yeah, and it’s our realtor’s house. With NO info from her, we found it on our own, and set up a showing. We saw 6 homes today, her’s being the last. She fessed up and mentioned (since we would see their pictures in their house), that the last one was theirs. We loved it, and talked about it, and made an offer, which she informally accepted! Now she’ll really sell the heck out of our house. Here are some pics I took.Sorry for the poor quality and the “flipped on their side” ones…silly phone.
